Are you brushing the way that you should? Many people only focus on the front of their teeth. For the best results from brushing, not only should you be brushing twice a day for two minutes, but should focus on brushing your entire mouth.
Our dentist wants to help you keep your mouth healthy. That’s why our team at Greg Wolfe Family Dentistry in Ventura, California, wants you to know more about brushing your teeth.
When brushing your teeth, it is important to brush each tooth on the front, back and eating side. This entire process should take at least two minutes. Rather than focusing on each tooth individually and trying to brush only one at a time, it works better to break your brushing into segments.
Start with the front of your top teeth, remembering to massage your gums with your toothbrush. Once finished with the front of your top teeth, move to your bottom teeth, and still only focus on the front. This is where some people stop brushing, but for best results, you need to continue on.
Keep going and brush the back side of your teeth. Just as before, start with the top teeth and then move on to your bottom teeth. For your front teeth, you might need to angle your brush up and down and make vertical brushes.
As the final step to brushing your entire mouth, make sure to brush the chewing side of your teeth, for both the top and bottom teeth.
