Fall is a fun, exciting time of year that includes the beginning of school, sports, and the holiday season. It’s quite the busy time for you and your child, so it’s important to take the steps now to prepare your child’s smile for the fall season. Dr. Greg L. Wolfe will be happy to help you do that by giving you the tips you need.

Tip No. 1: Solidify the oral hygiene routine. For many people, the summer months include sleepovers, late nights, and exhausted kids, which usually result in missed brushing and flossing techniques. Now that the summer is almost over, it’s important to solidify that oral hygiene routine for your child and motivate them to brush twice a day and floss once a day. If necessary, set an alarm that will remind you.

Tip No. 2: Schedule your child’s next dental checkup before school starts. This can help your child avoid missing school because of dental issues. At this appointment, our dental team will deeply clean your child’s mouth, strengthen and nourish their teeth, and even treat dental issues if necessary. This will give them a clean, healthy, and even attractive smile for the school year.

Tip No. 3: Talk to our dentist about a mouth guard. If your child plays high-contact sports, they need to wear a mouthguard to protect their smile from the hard, forceful objects that can hit it. So, please talk to Dr. Greg L. Wolfe about a custom-made mouthguard.
